EID CELEBRATION

Eid Al-Ajha

Assalamu Alaykum, Happy Eid Mubarak . The Muslims is called Eid Al-Adha / of  the second and final Eid celebration.It commemorates the completion of the Hajj pilgrimage. Allah swears by these blessed days, which underlines their importance and the great benefits they contain. DO'S OF THE DAYS: Among the good deeds that a Muslim is expected to do during these ten days are: Performing Hajj and Umrah.
Eid al-Adha of the Greater Eid, is an important religious holiday celebrated by Muslims worldwide to honor the willingness of  Ibrahim  to sacrifice his son Ishmael as an act of obedience to God, before God intervened to provide him with a sheep to sacrifice instead.
  • The festival is also known as Id-ul-Zuha. The word derived from the Arabic "iwd" means "festival" and "zuha" comes from "uzhaiyya" which translates to "sacrifice".
  • Eid al-Adha is the latter of two Eid festivals celebrated by Sunni and Shia Muslims. The basis for the Eid al-Adha comes from the 196th verse of sura 2 (Al-Baqara) of the Quran.
  •  The word "Eid" appears in Sura al-Mai'da  of the Qur'an, meaning 'solemn festival'.
  • The days of Eid al Adha are the 10th of Dhul Hijjah upto the 12th of Dhul Hijjah (3 days and 2 nights) sacrifice may take place until sunset on the 13th Day.
  • The days of Eid have been singled out in the Hadith as "days of remembrance".

Eid food



Every Muslim country and culture has its own traditions that surround Eid Al-Adha. In Bangladesh, sweets and cookies are prepared in advance for the special day and new clothes purchased for the children.

After congregational Eid prayers on the first morning of the holiday, families either convene for the slaughter or do it individually at their own homes.
